I spent 5 nights in May at the Iberostar Selection Jardin Del Sol Suites and wanted to share my personal review for anyone considering this hotel for a classy hen weekend. We stayed Half Board and booked a Star Prestige Junior Suite – more about Star Prestige later!

First Impressions

We were blown away by the views upon entering the hotel. The reception area as you walk in is actually on the top floor and there are beautiful floor to ceiling views of the sea. As we had booked the Star Prestige package which is a premium offering that grants you exclusive access to Star Prestige areas, we were taken to the Star Prestige reception to check in. After a welcome glass of cava, we were shown to our room.

The Room

It’s worth mentioning that all the rooms here come with a Sea View so the first thing we did was head out on to the balcony and let me tell you, the views are knock-out. I’ve stayed in a fair few sea view rooms but this view is one of the best I’ve had. Our Junior Suite was very spacious, it had a huge, comfy bed, indoor whirlpool, a minibar which is stocked daily (free for all inclusive, otherwise the first mini bar is free for Star Prestige guests) and a good sized walk-in shower.

Outdoor Spaces and Pool

There are three outdoor pools: a large pool in the main part of the hotel and two pools in the Star Prestige area, one of which is heated plus a jacuzzi. There is also an indoor pool in the spa. We spent most of our time by the Star Prestige pools on one of the comfy Bali beds, occasionally taking a dip in the pool or relaxing in the jacuzzi with a frozen Daquiri in hand! The Star Prestige outdoor terrace also has two bars and snacks are available at certain times of day for all Star Prestige guests regardless of board basis. We did head down to the main pool once and it is perfectly adequate; it has a large pool, plenty of sun beds and amazing views across the bay, but in my opinion it is absolutely worth upgrading to the Star Prestige package.

Food

As I mentioned earlier we stayed on a half board basis so we had breakfast and evening meals included. You can choose to dine al fresco with gorgeous views of the sea or indoor if you prefer. There was plenty of choice for breakfast from hot food to pastries and fruit. You can even have a glass of cava although I personally don’t have the stomach for it in a morning! I did see plenty of people enjoying a mimosa though!

For dinner, there was a theme each night and it was consistently delicious!

Entertainment

There was entertainment each night during my stay with a different act which was mostly quite low-key but there were a couple of high energy exceptions. We mostly enjoyed the entertainment here (particularly rock night!) however Santa Ponsa is only about a 20 minute walk away if you’re after a livelier evening! They also had an entertainment team during the day with daily activities such as cocktail making and tapas tasting – perfect for a small hen group!

Final Thoughts

I would recommend the Iberostar Selection Jardin Del Sol Suites for a small, low-key hen group looking to relax in beautiful surroundings with a cocktail in hand. The hotel’s spa is perfect for a girly pamper session and makes a luxurious hen party activity. Aside from the gorgeous scenery, the location is great with Santa Ponsa only a 20 minute walk away and the bright lights of Magaluf a short taxi ride. I must add, the staff really made our stay; they were all so attentive and just genuinely wanted to ensure their guests were having the best time. I’m already looking forward to returning next year!
