Albufeira is found on the sunny Algarve coast in Portugal, only a 3 hour flight time from the UK. This lively resort is home to some stunning, sandy beaches, ideal for lazy days by the sea or enjoying thrilling water sports. Albufeira has two sides to it: the Strip and the Old Town. 

The Strip is packed with bars, clubs and restaurants, perfect for a night out with the bride squad. In fact, Albufeira Strip has become an extremely popular hotspot for hen and stag parties. 

Over in the Old Town, you will find a more relaxed pace of life. Within its winding, cobbled streets are a multitude of relaxed pubs and bars, traditional Portuguese restaurants serving fresh seafood and an abundance of charming shops and boutiques. It takes approximately 20-30 minutes to walk between the Strip and the Old Town however there are local taxis and a tourist road train you can take if you don’t fancy the walk. 

Albufeira truly has something for everybody which makes it the perfect destination for your hen abroad.

  • Coco Loco: This Hawaiian-themed bar located near the Strip offers bottomless brunch, a fab way to try different cocktails!. They also provide fun-filled cocktail making classes. Make sure to book in advance as their weekends fill up quickly!
  • Wine Tasting: One for the classy bride! What better way to enjoy the sunshine than to tour a vineyard in the gorgeous Portuguese countryside and sipping local wine?
  • Boat Trip: Soak up the sun on one of the many boat trips that set sail from Albufeira Marina. Each boat trip offers a unique experience: whether you want to take in the spectacular scenery of the Algarve coastline, stop off for a swim or snorkel at a nearby beach or go dolphin watching, there’s a boat trip for you and the rest of your hen group to enjoy.
  • Shopping and Lunch in the Old Town: Meander through the cobblestone streets of the traditional Old Town and explore souvenir shops with handcrafted goods and quaint clothing boutiques. Once you’re all shopped out, grab a spot of lunch in the Old Town Square where there are often live musicians and street performers to keep you entertained.
